Welcome Aboard BigMO! We're neighbors, I'm in St. Charles, about a mile from Lindenwood College. Where do you boat?

My first post here. We live in suburban Atlanta. Our boat which we call the blue toona is on Lake Chatuge which is in the mountains and straddles the GA/NC border.

Clermont, FL is home for me! It's just North-West of Disney. I'm right in the middle of the Clermont Chain of Lakes. Home of the 2007 National motocross champ, Grant Langston!

We're from Tiger, GA in Rabun County (as far North & East as you can get in GA!). Just got a 1987 Landau CastAway 20' w/28 hp Johnson. Boat is the 'Queen Rosemary' and will be berthed on Lake Rosemary in DeFuniak Springs, FL. This is my first boat and I'm studying up on marine stuff. After flying C-130's/Grumman Gulfstream's as military/FAA pilot and diesel locomotive railroad engineer, I don't want the 'Queen' to get away from me!!

We're from Charleston, WV. We just bought a 1987 24 ft. Playbuoy Yachtsman
pontoon and have just started to refurbish it. We have had 2 new pontoons in
the past but I think that we are going to like this one the best. We are going to
order all new furniture for it today. Can't wait to get it on the lake!!!

Hello all,Chad and katy from lowell , Arkansas slipped on Beaver lake. Fairly new to the board, lot of knowledge here which has helped me alot! Really enjoy it. Well I have a 1996 20' Voyager pontoon , 'my first boat', It has been the best thing I think I have ever purchased. Just a great time taking the wife and kids out. Really gettin into fixin it up. Going to recarpet and new furniture over the winter. Its kinda addicting once you start working on one, but its a labor of love.

Congrats on the new boat and retirement Ron. It's kind of nerve racking at first, but before you know it you will be an old salt. Lots of good people and info here to help you get used to it without going it alone. Some pics of your new toon would also be appreciated when you get a chance. Happy boating and welcome..

I will say that this was the hardest of forums to join. But it is all good now.
At present we have a Hurricane Midship 24. A rather funky looking deckboat. Anyway, we bought it mainly because of the porta-potti setup as the Bosslady is claustrophobic and the mid-cabin offered the most room. I also liked the raised center helm station. Actually not a bad boat, but where we are on the lake, it is way too rough; three to four foot wakes on most summer weekends from the large cruisers.
With the new grandchild, I finally got the approval to go back to a pontoon. Seems that the porta-potti is no longer a major issue. This time it will be a 26' triple log unit. Here in the KC area, we have 3 boat shows all in January and Fenruary, plus another in March at the lake. So I'll be making the rounds, finding who will make the best deals. Don't need a trailer and my dock has a boat lift.
I guess that I shuld mention that we will be retiring to Lake of the Ozarks with it's 1,200 miles of shoreline 140 miles of main channel and major arms. We are seeing more and more triple log toons due to the rough water.
