I went to a metal fabricator and had them cut a 6 inch strip of heavy gauge aluminum and bend it at 2 inches.making a 2x4 trim.Worked ideal.

Another name for this is 'rub rail', as I found out when I wanted to replace the piece that wrapped the front of my boat.  It had lots of wear from slamming the uprights upon putting it on the trailer (my fault - not previous owner, who was more gentle). I investigated replacing - seems boat/manufacturer specific and ran into a dead end, spraying with Line-X  (bedliner material) - cost approx. $150 because I wanted grey, and, my final solution, buy a couple cans of bedliner spray at Wal-mart (about 7$/can) and sprayed the section in front, covering up the dings. It looks pretty good - not the toughest, but easy to touch up if need be.  I really like the diamond plate and it would look great with bedliner spray, too. -Thom

Not that I know of, but even if you use that stuff you would need a backing matereial anyway so you might as well just use aluminum, and Leave that Dockmate stuff to the Dock which has the wood for backing anyway. Of course that just my humble opinion.
