The weather is finally changing...so, I am taking the plunge and starting the re-deck and complete rebuild of the pontoon. I bought the new floor, carpet, glue and seats from PontoonStuff. Still need to buy the bimini, but that is still to come (I have to save some more coin)...

The floor was soft (took a picture of the bottom for those of you that are interested).

Thought I'd throw in a picture of my old console compared to the one I purchased from PontoonStuff. Very Nice!

I'll be painting the rails and sides a cream/white color. I'll also be putting on custom vinyl graphics. I'll post pics as I progress in addition to putting pics of the teardown. Wish me luck!

Well, I live in Texas and it's still in the low 80's here...and will probably be through December. Even on a cold day, it's in the 40's...but that is what we would call a really cold day. I don't have anywhere covered, so I'll be doing this in the open (and I'll make sure the day is warmer than 65 degrees). I bought the following carpet from Pontoonstuff:

'20oz textured pontoon boat carpet, 2 gallons of our marine adhesive, 100 deck screws and 32 fence risers, deck joint tape to cover your aluminum cross channels and a free trowel.'

Does anyone know of a company that sells the bimini top where the flaps come down the back (see picture above) like on my pontoon? I have looked everywhere and can only find bimini tops where the flaps come down the sides. I guess I can have a new top made, but that may cost me more than just replacing. Any thoughts?

I am finally tearing down my little pontoon. I will be painting the rails/fence, replacing the floor, carpet, and furniture (courtesy of Pontoonstuff.com). I am hoping to have it all completed by the first weekend in May for an outing. I'll post more pictures as I progress...

We have been in a severe drought now for 16months. I sure hope we get some of that wet stuff soon... My boat is 20feet long with a 2 stroke smoker (but runs strong).

I am also including a completed (Primed) not painted pic. It is coming along...just not as quick as I'd like...It's alot of work! But hopefully, well worth it!.

Adding another pic of a primered fence (notice the rails are primered too). I am using self etching primer over the entire fence/rail surface.

I am using Dupli-Color Self Etching Primer. Depending on where you buy them you can spend $3 to $6 a can. I bought all I could at a local autostore that had them for $3 a can (cheaper than Wal-Mart). It went on real nice. I was looking at buying a premixed laquer that Dupli-Color sells by the quart, but it only comes in certain colors, like white, red, blue, etc...etc... And I wanted a cream color. So, I consulted with a local auto paint shop and they suggested using spray paint. If I ever need to touch up the paint for whatever reason, it is easier with spray paint without having to pull out my compressor and gun. I found the color I wanted to match the PontoonStuff seats and voila, I painted my first rail/fence yesterday. It came out amazingly nice (see below). Pics didn't come out as clear as I'd like (it's overcast this morning). Maybe once the sun comes out I'll take a couple more pics.

Those panels are really going to look sharp.  I have been pondering what to do with the aluminum panels on my Misty Harbor.  They aren't in bad shape but the stripes are weathered...problem is the aluminum is that 'Dimpled' kind that will make it impossible to scrape, (stickers), and I can't heat from the other side because there is a carpet backing on the inside of the panels....(Maybe some plastic sticker eating spray or something?)  Mike

Alright, so I am still painting and watching paint dry isn't very much fun...So, I decided to start putting my console together. I haven't started wiring anything, and am not looking forward to that part - maybe this week sometime.

I'll be adding a digital depth finder under the Tach (so I left a little space there)...
