Vondy thanks for the map. I would be camping on the boat but prefer to moor it on an island rather than float or anchor at night. Robert ignore my other post on your rebuild about booking a room you are ahead of me. Charles I will be coming with wife and 2 kids so 4 total at a minimum. May have a couple more non-tooners but not sure right now. I will book hotel this week.

I'll be there with my wife and 2 kids, but sleeping at my house.  Maybe have a few more tag along, but who knows.

I'm still not sure if I'm hauling my toon there or not as that would add 2 hrs drive time each way, but I've got plenty of time to think about it.

Cool link Vondy. After looking at the map I think I have passed the Clarion many times going to Hot Springs, Lake Ouachita, etc.

Looks like at least 11 depending on how many Breamslayer is bringing.  Robert I was thinking we would cook at least one meal with everyone attending. Maybe a lunch or supper? If you want to plan that or can cook that would be good. Also we need help recruiting more members to attend if yall want to keep your eyes open for new folks and let them know about the meeting when they join.

Robert I somehow missed your post on the meals. Im up for anything. I will try and contact the hotel and see if they have a room we can use maybe for a formal meal or meet and greet and see what the price is. If not maybe some of the folks from up there know if there is a pavillion available at a park or something close to the hotel. I have fish fryer and a smoker (both electric and charcoal) I can bring if we decide to cook there.

Well after sending out the emails for Arkansas and TN, not one person replied saying they were coming. If you are coming, you need to say you are, even think you might come so Brian and others will know how much food they will need to prepare for. If you need a room, you better reserve in advance before all the rooms anywhere there is gone, as they have a big horse racing event there soon after (think I was told they'll start coming Sun with several before then)

So Brian, what's your best guess at how many are probably coming? I'm reserved already, is it just you and me and Vondy? Bring the smoker and a small pig. I'll help pay for the porker and veggies and I'm seriously thinking of bringing the toon. Probably won't do any fishing though, but I guess it depends on the cost of the license for 3 or 7 days.

Charles, the non-resedent 3 day fishing license is $11 and 7 day is $17.  Not to pricey compared to some places.

I think Robert (bboater) is going to cook. I have a line on a small pig if yall want to do that. I know where 12 are that were born a month or so ago. I have been on vacation and away from PS for a while so have missed alot the last few days. Im thinking we probably have 10-12 or more now with family members. I may fish some if it turns out to be a low turnout but it will probably be with a spear. Come on and bring the toon!

Yep if I can see them. Visibility probably is not much on this lake but I will try. Hope you get the motor running right and get that GPS past 20!

I was up at Lake Ouachita this weekend and drove by the resort. I left my toon in storage yard near there as I couldn't find a marina slip at Lake Ouachita as they are all full and lease by the year. From the outside the Clarion looks like a nice place and they have an uncovered dock to moor boats, etc. Nice looking (from street) pool with lots of folks around it. I will be there even if I am the only one. I have some of my non-toon owner dive buddies interested in going (one of them is looking for a toon). I will get with everyone a couple weeks out and see about a cookout, etc.

Don't know about attendance exactly since not a single person responded to the emails I've sent out about it (other than when I put AK instead of AR) . I know me, Briankinley2004, Vondy (who lives there) and maybe a couple of others (I think) are going to be there. Gonna catch a little piggy and cook him and stick a fork in him and I'm bringing my boat (hope I get it running good by then).

Im not sure of age but I have these two that are about 40#. I can get one of their brother/sisters and probably would be 60# by August. Does anyone have anything to cook it in or know how. About all I can do is get it there gutted.

Well first thing is to build a fire and burn all the hair and little critters off that porker. Then you'd use something basically sharp to scrape the hide of the blacken residue. Oh instead of me explaining all that, I found a place that does it better than I could.    http://www.ehow.com/how_4549435_butcher-prepare-pig.html   Then we could either cook it in a pit like this http://www.ehow.com/how_2306120_build-pig-roaster.html or we can also do like these guys http://cuban-christmas.com/pigroast.html

I should be able to get a cleaned pig up there. Who's up for the pit and handling the cooking?

Me if its not unbearably HOT as the cooking will probably be about 4 hrs. I don't mind.

I'd doubt they'd let us cook in there, it'd probably have to be outside somewhere. Maybe Vondy can shed some light on the facility there and check out anything like a pavilion somewhere on the grounds that has a fire ring or something. Smoker would be prefect, cook that baby about 6-8 hours.
