Newbie here ... I bought this Suntracker about 5 years ago. Luckily it had been renovated pretty much from one end to the other so all I've done is use it.
I'm now interested in polishing it up, protecting the vinyl and carpet, and maintaining my engine (50 HP Merc) so I can get several more good years out of it.
Great site ...

Welcome! What a great concept...just use the toon! I was at that point a few weeks ago...just tired of working on it and want to spend as much time in the water on the toon as I have sweating on it. What year model is she?

Good call on the 30x40. I use the *profanity not allowed* out of mine. Double doors are nice for moving things around.
Using an old boat is great till something goes wrong. Dependabilty is top of my list of things I enjoy in a boat. After some breakdowns, I replaced the power pack on my Merc last year and have been back in the saddle ever since. Both finger's crossed now ...
May is gonna be a heck of a fishing month on Beaver Lake and I'm planning on being right in the middle of it slaying the slabs. My hat's off to my mechanic and the water temperature.

In my experience use is the best thing for a boat motor as well as a boat.

And for the driver too.
You asked what year model this is ... it's an '85 as is the Merc. I bought it off a guy around here who redid it. There was a fire in it's past and this guy did a toon's up restore on it (oddly enough the fire never touched the motor. Great kharma.) His wife sewed all the seats and the pedestal and he did everything else. Cool guy. He mentioned that he was a Vietnam vet and I could see it. Rigged to run right and lot's of attention to detail - he even bent extra door pins.
I asked him if his wife would be available to do repairs on the vinyl. He said that after this project, she probably wouldn't ever sew another pontoon seat seat in his lifetime. Great guy ... even came down $1K cause he liked my wife.
I'll put some more pics up when I can. My next major project is to clean the toons - that's how I found this site. I have read and reread the posts and I think I have a gameplan.
I haven't done anything to it this year so far except for wiping the seats off and get a new starting battery (along with paying my mechanic for the ritual startup/tuneup/complaining about my boat session).

Here is the boat buttoned down. Not much to say ... it's raining so nothing much is gonna happen today.
I have not by any means neglected these toons but I did leave it in the water for the last couple of years so they need some work.
The old Merc is a churner. It has a new power pack and is back from my mechanic with a fresh carb cleaning (and a mild *bad word* session about how old it is).
5 year old cover ... I'm thinking about giving it a shot of waterproofer and calling it good for another couple of years.
