This is not off a  pontoon boat but my son caught the biggest fish in his life 18 miles off the coast and wants to show off. The fish was over 7' long formerly called a Jew fish but because of political correctness since 2001 it is now called a Goliath grouper. It was a catch and release because it is a protected species. He jumped in the water because a fish picture alone would not show the grouper's size. He never wants to catch another one because his muscle was sore for days and he had black and blues from the rod between his legs.
