I know some of you guys have multiple computers and want good antivirus protection, you may not know that Symantec has 5 and 10 user packs pretty cheap. The 5 pack is about equal to what two computers would normally cost, and if you got more than 5, then a 10 pack is about as cheap as licenses for 3 computers. You'll find it here for Norton Antivirus 2010 (and two other Norton products I don't use). Some of you guys like the free stuff, but I prefer something I know I can get support for (if I ever needed it) and it has never (not yet) failed me. I use to get 10 user packs but finally got it down to 5.

I am trying Vipre by Sunbelt right now. I have had their firewall for a few years now, and thought I would give the AV a try. You get a 15 day free trial, and if you want it, it's around $30.00 single or home site license for as many computers as you want for $50.00 a year. They don't ask for credit card numbers either for the 15 day trial!! I have been using Avira free version for a couple years and haven't had any problems, it doesn't scan emails before opening, but if there is something bad in an email after opening, it's suppose to catch it.

I decided to try it after trying the free version on a computer I had repaired. (if you register it, it allows 30 days usage). I ended up deciding to buy the unlimited version for the 49 bucks since I just installed Windows 7 on two of my three laptops and on a virtual workstation windows 7. I almost went with the 3yr for $124+ (about 25 or so in savings from a yearly renewal) but decided to stay with the 1 yr and test it out that way. Randy, thanks for posting the info about it.

I've been using Trend PCcillin for the last couple of years and it seems ok.  The only problem with it is the fact that it slows down boot up when you turn the machine on.  Probably takes a full 2 minutes to open up. I think the edition with all the bells and whistles is $72. It does spyware and is supposed to have all security features available.  Do any of you have any experience with it?

It's been many years since I last used it and it wasn't much good then, haven't look at it since that time.
