I picked her up on ebay about 2 weeks ago.  Complete with trailer for $2841.00, was donated to a nonprofit for resale, Boat Ministries.  Was sold as is, where is and stated that motor (2002 merc 75 HP 2 stroke) did not run.  Odd part was that the selling city was where my lake lot is which is only 25 min from where I live.  After studying  the pictures I realized that it had an ALUMINUM deck.  Which was a WOW for me.   I had to put two new tires ($200)and wheels on it to get it home, then new bearings ($20).  The motor was missing the prop and a few other pieces.  I purchased a new regulator ($200) bought a new fuel line with pump ($20)and ran a fuel line into a gas tank.  I had to replace the ignition switch ($40) battery ($59)primed it and it started.  It would not shift gears....it is missing part of the shift stuf on the engine. I ordered it last Friday ($68) changed the gear lube, which was good and clean, and by moving by hand it seems to be fine. I picked up a new prop from Cabellas bat cave (Discount returns at my local cabellas) Mercuriser 14X13 for ($54) and the middle part ($29).  My son and I spent 4 hours removing all the furniture, playpen etc. and scraped all the rotton carpet off.   I have all new furniture coming in this week ($1600) delivered, new bimni top ($398) and new marine vinal flooring ($290) so should have all back together in about two weeks.  It has 4 fishing chairs one in each corner and I orderd the extra plush high backs....  I will post finished pics in a few weeks.  O, I also purchased last year model color depth finder from the bat cave for ($140-new in box regular $280) so I will have less than $5800 ready to go.  Anything I need to know??  Thanks Paul

So, I take it the pics here that you posted, wasn't ones you took right? If they were, could you retake them at a higher resolution at least 640x480 or 800x600 so  they'll be easier to see for those of us with bad eyesight

OK. I finally had time to get back on my project.  I found a 2004 Yamaha 90 hp 4 stroke, with stainless prop and new side mount control's,  with 18 hours sitting on a 1977 glastron with galvanized trailer on craigslist for $4250.00.   I just could not pass it up.  I installed it today, 5 hours total doing the swap including removing both controls and motors and install everything necessary on the pontoon.  Hit the key and it started so must have done it right.  I had installed the vinyl flooring last month.  My son and I will install the new furn and rails tomorrow and have it back in the water by the weekend.  I will post finished pics.  I do have the 02 merc 2 stroke on ebay with no reserve if you need one.  My 30 foot party hut wont fit in my dock but this sweet 21 footer will.  I will be selling the party hut in the next 30 days.

I guess that's a pretty good deal as you'll still have something to work as another project and sell it or sell it like it is and recoup some of your money.

OK, my son and I spend 6 hours today and got her all back together, new Bimini top installed, all new furniture, helm put back down.  I moved the helm up about 6 inches to give me more room behind the wheel.  Fabricated some of those water shields for under the rear deck and installed, Hope it helps.   Just finish up some wiring tomorrow, new LED running lights etc.  Install GPS and depth finder and it will be ready to go.  Sitting with some of my other toys.

Nice set of toys!  I'm sure you will enjoy Lake Travis -- hope it doesn't get low again this year!  Pontoon is looking great, and about time to get 'er on the water.

TR:  Nice rebuild.  It looks great.  I hope mine turns out as well.  What did you use to clean the adhesive and rubber backing off of your aluminum deck?

I used a 4 inch paint scraper.  It only took about 30 min.  It had been sitting in the sun a long time and was pretty hard and dried up so easy.  Hope yours turns out as easy.  Thanks Paul

I ran it yesterday and today.  With the 20 inch prop that came on the engine it runs 27 mph, on GPS, at 4600 rpm and that is the max rpm I can get.  Should I go with a different prop?

I've had 3 different pontoon boats with everything from 35-90hp motors and none of them did more than about 25-28mph.  Unless you have a 3-toon boat, they won't plane out; they just plow through the water, so about 25-30mph is about the best you can hope for.  Don't know about these guys running 115hp engines tho, they might do a little better.

I don't, my best is 26.x something but going to try a 13.75x15 very soon to see if I get a better response.

I ran a 13X14 today.  It really jumped out of the hole, top speed was still 26.5 on GPS but my rpm went up to 5800.   I am going to get a 13 3/4 by 15 this week to see if I can gain any speed and or reduce my running rpm at 25 mph and still have the performance.  It will scream out of the hole now though and it really backs good now.  I might end up getting of of those fiberglass center add on water glide.  Has any one used one of those.
I have everything finished buy getting my running lights  working/hooked back up.  I ran a new wire today for a new cig plug to run a spot light etc.  I also moved my transducer to where it now reads at all speeds correctly.  I had to move it to underneath the alum piece on the back of the toon to make it work.  Now sitting at its new home.

Love the looks of that dock area once I got rid of the pwc off that dock  so it doesn't interfere with my casting.  Pretty area.

I finally had time to install the 13.75 X 15 prop today.  With two people the top speed went to 27.5 mph (GPS) my rpm's droped to 5400.  I am guessing that it will run 28 Plus with only one person so my top speed improved.  At 3500 rpm it runs 18.5 and at 4000 21 and at 5000 24.   I am going to run it a while but I think it is the best prop for my boat.  Lower rpm and higher cruising speed should get me to at least 6 plus MPG as I was getting 5 to 6 mpg or so with the other prop.  May get close to 7 mpg on a long cruise.

I found this on craigslist, called and neg  to $800 as I was going through there Monday on the way to my buddy in Rogers, Arkansas, trusted him enough to pay with paypal.  I will get it installed when I get back next week.  I will post the improvements.  I hope.
He might have deleted it, if so, its a 1 year old waterglide that was installed on a larger tracker pontoon.
(
I have a water glide for a pontoon for sale. It is just like a adding a third toon to your pontoon without a whole lot of extra weight. If you have not heard of this before here is a little info. It will had not only more speed, but will also give you better fuel effeciancy, better whole shot with less drag, and will make your pontoon feel lighter in the water. It is a all around good deal for duel tooned pontoons. Really it is better for those who spend a lot of time on bigger lakes with bigger boats because it will help stay on top of those big waves. ASking 1200obo. If interested or have questions call me at 918-XXXXX or just email me if you would like to see some pics of it. I can just send them too you. )
