have an 38 year old Starcraft aluminum boat, which still runs great and is an incredible hull (23').  I have recently pulled it all apart and gutted it to refurbish it.  Our plan was to build wrap around seating similar to the new boats.  We were going to build the boxes for the seats and the seats themselves and have them upholstered.  BUT

I was recently looking for other some other stuff on PontoonStuff.com and came across the Classic pontoon furniture and really am interested since I could just bolt in the pieces I need and that would make my life a lot easier.  I could also buy vinyl to cover any seats I have to make and then they would match.

My question is has anybody used these particular seats.  I could with the Classic pontoon furniture or I could go with the Wise pontoon furniture.  The Classic is my first choice since the paint lines on the boat are straight and so is the vinyl lines on the seats.  The curved colors on the Wise seats look great ,but not sure they belong in a 38 year old boat.

I am land locked in Alberta, Canada and have no way to physically see these seats since the bulk of the products seem to be in the States.  If anybody has put these seats in their pontoon boats I would like to here your review (How sturdy are they, How are they lasting, Look, Quality, How do the hinges hold up etc.) and if you have any pics on how they look installed would be absolutely priceless to me.  I am not a fan of buying off the Internet unless I actually see what I am buying.  Everything looks good on the net!

Any help would be appreciated

I will add pics as soon as I figure out how to do that.

Hello Curtis aka imhungry1, welcome to the forums. Got a great bunch of people here. Glad to see you come join us. Be sure to post some pics of your boat(s) in the 'Show Off Your Pontoon' section (or rebuild depending if you have before/after pics), as we'd love to see them. Also tell us your story in How did you come to join the forums? (just click on the red link and tell us all about it ).  You probably did like a lot of us have. Looking for pontoon accessories and either found it through www.PontoonStuff.com ebay site or web store. PontoonStuff have excellent staff members to help you find whatever it is you're looking for, for your boat and has excellent shipping and customer service. Have fun and happy boating. Be sure to edit your signature line to include details of your boat and motor so folks won't have to ask for it if questions arise later. Also visit our other sections like Where are you? so others will know what part of the country you're from. If you need any help editing your uploading your photo's, check out our primer here How To Upload Your Pontoon Boats Image, if you need help resizing them check out Software that helps you with pics & such. Be sure to review the posting rules and policies of the forum. If you have any issues with seeing photo's this link will explain it Issue regarding seeing photo’s on site. Please read all the posting rules. Some forums have additional specific rules for that category.

Moved from rebuild to here, as your post didn't meet the rebuild criteria. Lots of us have their seats. Myself, I have the premium brand and love them. If you look in the rebuild section, you'll see who's bought seats and either loved them or a few had issues with Classic brand with the seat hinges specifically. They look just like in the pics PontoonStuff has on their web sites.

I went with the Wise so can't help you with the pics. Seems like there was a thread on here about the Classic seats on someones rebuild but don't remember who. Might want to do a search as that thread had pics.

I believe this rebuild was done with the Classic seating.

I can not speak for the wise brand, but I can tell you that I did my rebuild with the designer seating and love it.  My dad rebuilt his with the classic.  Having sat in both, I would have to say the designer is much more comfortable.  It has larger cushons and better padding.  Quality of both seems to be the same though.

That's what sold me on the designer series, I went to the showroom in Elkhart and sat on all of it, that's also what sold me on those recliner chairs (ask vondy, I think he tried mine too in Arkansas). Just more comfortable (thicker seats).

I went with the Designer, much more comfortable than classic and I think better color choice. I think both of the seat bases are the same. May want to see my project 'kartracer28' page 7,,,, Good Luck

I used the classic seats on a bebuild of an 84 Starcraft. Although I liked the seats, I would recommend one of the upgraded lines because they are more comfortable. I will try to attach pics.

Hey it worked! That is PS carpet and bimini top also. I wish I had that same top on my new boat. Good luck with you rebuild, and I hope this helps.

Joe
