Hello new PontoonStuff.com forum members:
We are sending this letter to give our first official welcome to you new members. This letter will be sent out every 7 days. If you do not want to continue receiving this letter, there are two options - 1) Make 11 posts which will automatically move you into the Groupie status or 2) Contact any administrator (wildcat dude, Vescom1, Riverboat or scbadiver) and ask them to move you into the Groupie status. We thank you for contributing to the success of the forum and to the PontoonStuff retail outlet. We value the knowledge of everyone who helped those wishing to boat on tighter purse strings. Through the numerous pontoon projects our members have had, through good and bad luck members have had buying or repairing boats, this site has provided hope. This is evident through the before and after pictures they have so graciously uploaded as a testament to their success. By these posts others see that they too can succeed with whatever the project is at hand. Whether it is a minor repair or a complete rebuild transformation this site can and will get you through it. There will eventually be a how to video for redecking.
We would also love to see what brought you to www.pontoonstuff.com/forums, post your story here how did you come to join the forums? http://www.pontoonstuff.com/forum/pontoon-forum/1924-11-how- did-you-come-to.asp?PN=1 as the staff and others would really love to know.
PontoonStuff, Inc. is a family-owned business with corporate office and warehouses located in Elkhart, Indiana.
In 2003, we started selling pontoon furniture and accessories through an eBay store. We found that our customers needed one source to purchase everything to rebuild pontoon boats. In October 2004, PontoonStuff.com was released, and we are now the largest distributor of pontoon furniture and accessories in the country.
With our tremendous growth it became necessary in 2006 to build a 30,000 sq. ft distribution facility and call center. This state-of-the-art facility has allowed us to distribute and ship our products within 24 to 48 hours. Our highly trained staff will provide you with the best advice on your pontoon project, from start to finish. Our success has come through our long-term relationships, outstanding customer service, and our ability to meet and exceed our customer’s requirements. We will continue to be your #1 source, and help you to enjoy pontoon boating without the high cost of purchasing a new boat.
In March 2008, we were just so busy with the business we didn't have time to manage the forums as much as we would have liked. During a discussion with Mike Vesely (Vescom1), who had called about some unwanted content being published on the forum, Jim decided it was time to add some Forum Administrators. Through the discussions that ensued, Charles Dobbs (wildcat dude) and Chris Kueny (Riverboat) along with Mike were selected based on how they helped members in the forums. As the new Administrators they selected Robbie Hermann (scbadiver), Roger Hartsock (rhartsock) and Eric Fleming (dahogman) to be Forum Moderators (scbadiver has since been moved to the admin group) . These folks will help you with any problem or purchase decisions. If they don't know, they'll direct you to the forum members who are the greatest folks ever. Every day Charles posts the statistics so you, the members, the heart and soul of the forums, have the current information on how the forums and membership is doing, plus with polls to gauge the work the admins are doing. We don't keep old posts past two years from the last post, or members who haven't posted in over a year regardless of status. Other forums do that to fluff their statistics.
We here at PontoonStuff think of this forum as our family and do our best to keep this a family oriented site. We strive to keep it fun and friendly. We have put a Suggestions Forum in place for everybody and anybody to use and we encourage any ideas to make this, the BEST pontoon site on the web, even better. Please be sure to read all of the posting rules prior to posting so there won't be any confusion on what is expected in or of the forums. Some forums have special posting rules - they will have a special posting rule or read me first post at the top of each main topic section.
There are some quirks in the forum software you'll need to be aware of when you post. If you want to convey in your message posts reference to inches and feet, do not use the quotation equivalents of that as it'll change the inches to feet and confuse everyone. We will at some point upgrade or replace our forum software, but until then, just use ft or in or feet or inch/inches as that can be very important when you ask questions. Also please include details about your boat in your signature line. Look at many of the posts and you'll see regular members do that, so when they ask questions, they do not have to constantly supply details about their boat, as it's already there for others to see. Be sure to set your country code and time zone in your preferences so the forum dates/times will display properly in your area.
When you become regular members and eventually move in the senior member class, don't forget you can create your own polls in the Start Your Own Personal Thread section, http://www.pontoonstuff.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=11. If you have not yet posted in the forums, please do. We have the perfect section called 'Where Are You?' http://www.pontoonstuff.com/forum/pontoon-forum/1190-1-where -are-you-.asp?PN=1 that CaptainRon started for you to put your first post (and add your 2nd post to 'How did you come to join the forums?').
If you are thinking about replacing your carpet, or the whole deck (its not expensive as you think it might be), just give the staff at www.PontoonStuff.com a call.
Once again, welcome one and all and thanks to ALL the members that make this site what it is. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have questions or problems, that is why we are here, for you! And don't forget, if you need the PontoonStuff decals, send an email to andrea@pontoonstuff.com and we'll be sure to get it to you (must supply your forum name, real name and address). Thanks again everybody.
