It was really spring again (in January) in West Texas today.   Temp was 70 plus with very little wind.  Got the toon out yesterday only to discover a completely dead cranking battery so didn't go fishing today as still on charger.

We have been drier than popcorn since October and REALLY need some moisture (rain or snow) just to wash the cotton gin dust out of the air....Hack....Hack!

We haven't had more than 2 cold snaps this winter and are waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Rick

Been pretty mild around here too. Suppose to be in the 50's tomorrow, but a good shot of cold coming in next week. They say it might be the last real cold spell of the winter (And I thought it just started). I hope they're right..

Rain, rain rain, today and tomorrow no rain, then rain rain rain (temps fluctate being 50's and 30's for highs), it doesn't really get cold here until later this month and next, then the thaw towards the end of Feb, but getting ready.

Rick, if you have a harbor freight store near, get one of their float chargers. They work great.

Today in Houston was beautiful.  71 degrees, no wind and bluebird clear.

I don't know what a 'float charger' is, but will check it out.  One problem is that my storage place doesn't have 'readily available' electric outlets.  I'm afraid that I may have an alternater problem in that the last couple of outings, I noticed that the voltmeter was below 12 when running lights, etc.

I went by my mechanic's place yesterday only it appeared that he is out of business.  Will put the toon back together tomo and see if I can figure anything out.

Thanks for the tip.

Rick

High of 11 today chance for 1-3 inches of snow. High for the next 10 days is 11, 9, 14, 7, 0, -3, 0, 13, 11, 8 with chance of snow 4 out of 10 days.  I Love Minnesota. It ruins the time on the pontoon but the ice fishing and snowmobiling keeps me plenty busy. Time out in the Ice house with my father and son are almost as priceless as the time on the toon.

Just above freezing here, but the sky is blue and big catfish are hungry!!! Supposed to rain this weekend, plus my kid has a big swim meet this weekend.  Hoping next weekend is nice, cause we need to haul the barge out and clean the bottom and replace the bilge pump in one pontoon (stuck float switch).  Of course, ya gotta do a test run after all that!!!

You Texas folks I see are having some really HOT weather and they say those triple digits don't see a break any time soon. In TN, it'll be low 90's with the heat index only bumping it up 2-3 more degrees

Last few days we've had 102-103 with 85-90% humidity which makes a heat index of around 113. Awful. It's like a steam bath outdoors.

Yesterday evening was the first time in a LONG time that the thermometer read 90. Been 104 - 107 at tiems. We might actually get some rain today, but that will only cause the roads to get really slick.

Isn't this weather nuts!  I am heading to the lake this afternoon, highs are suppose to be around 78-80 this weekend.  For mid-July here in MO that is nuts!  The water temp is going to be higher!  Lows are forecast to be in the mid to low 50's!  Those are October temperatures, but I will take it over the usual 95 degree heat we usually have this time of year.

I had given some thought of going to the lake, but it'd be crazy I'm sure around here. I'd might go to AL at Joe Wheeler, LOTS more handicapped accessible launch ramps and parking there (6 launch ramps with large floating docks)

I'm going to get the boat fixed this weekend and I packed long pants and a sweatshirt because i KNOW I'll be cold. I'd really prefer the 98 degree days and 75 degree nights! Ol' Wildcat Dude would be very happy here this weekend, wouldn't you Charles?

Well temps are finally down in the low to mid 80's which is good but its been raining cats and dogs now for over a week and they are still showing rain for another week around here. I managed to get some work done on the boat today and had to charge batteries for my drill/driver, that was it, the rains decided to dump since then. I think you guys in Texas could use a lot of this rain yourselves. It rained on us for a month in the spring, crazy weather pattern this year.

Here in Michigan (in the Bay Area) it has been in the mid to low 70's during the days and down in the 50-40's at night. Boating season will be done soon, too soon. We have had some unusually warm weather this time of year for our area, but I think that's going to be long gone. Need to start calling around to check prices on getting the toon wrapped.
