Some of you are probably wondering how we decide on who is nominated and selected for this award. First off I can tell you that the number of posts any makes has no bearing at all. Excellent Member of the Month Award for upholding the values and ideas of PontoonStuff.com, willingness to help the forum members and providing excellent suggestions for all. Ok so now you're saying what is the values and ideas of PontoonStuff.com. It's primarily what I thought was the value and ideas I orginally got after meeting with Jim, Andrea and their family along with their employees, their committment to them and to us, family values, trust, devotion to duty (military folks would understand this). Its keeping the forum clean to the belief that family comes first and raised in a positive light. I've been to other forums and settled on this one. Here is a place that regardless what your boat looks like, it all beauty, some just a diamond in the rough, and just hasn't been polished yet, but we (members) are the diamonds that are used to help them polish their jewels.
The admins/moderators (other than Wildcat Dude except on very rare occasions) make nominations for what members meet the standards above usually by the 20th of every month, then they start reviewing in more detail the nominee's posts and discuss the merits of who they feel makes one member stand out more than another. When all agree (or majority) by the 25th of each month, I make the email notification. Wildcat Dude makes the tie breaker if that ever should arise. On two rare occasions, we had a member who was the only one nominated and selected on the first go. We will not say who they were.
Some of you have never been voted the award (yet), but have been included in the nomination process more than once (some more than twice). So far we've never ran into the problem of whether or not we would include past winners in another process. We wouldn't rule it out, however we tend to find someone who hasn't yet been selected. Some of you have received other recognitions but we usually (or at least we haven't) included them in consideration.
So there you have it. I give credit to Mike Vesley (Vescom1 - one of the original administators) who originally gave me the idea in concept and I created this award. Its just a little way of giving back to those who gave in the first place to create the forum for what it is.
